Building Climate Resilience with Nature: The Zephyr Power Wind Farm, Pakistan

Co-authored with Kumayl Khaleeli, CEO of Zephyr Power Limited, this article examines how a coastal wind farm in Pakistan's Indus River Delta used mangrove restoration as a primary resilience strategy rather than conventional hard engineering. With over 120,000 seedlings planted across 300 hectares, analysis estimated the programme could prevent approximately USD 7 million in cumulative repair and maintenance costs — a twentyfold return on an initial USD 50,000 investment.
